Kazuki Miyamura is a visiting research student with the CCWJ from July 2025, joining from the Program of Mechanical Engineering at Hiroshima University in Japan through Hiroshima University’s ECBO (Engineers Cross Borders) / Joint Research Program. His current research focuses on computer vision applications for welding training and weld quality control using a compact head-mounted camera; laser wire additive manufacturing of aluminum alloys with dissimilar filler materials; and the development of a high-accuracy, high-efficiency laser wire additive manufacturing process using the hot-wire method.
Kazuki was interested in joining the CCWJ because of its expertise in welding physics, additive manufacturing, and computer vision.
Outside of work, Kazuki enjoys running, language learning, and traveling.
